This week our seventh graders started investigating probability. We did an experiment in class with square tiles and learned the difference between experimental probability and theoretical probability. We also started on our work with fractions a little bit. They are doing really well! Thank you parents for your awesome students! I love working with them.
Our sophomores started their work on extending the number system to include rational exponents and irrational numbers. We learned how to simplify radical expressions and to switch between rational exponential form and radical form. They are picking things up pretty well and I appreciate the student participation I am getting. I also had a few students email me with questions, which was really helpful. This way I could learn what things we needed to maybe hit again. Thanks for being responsible sophomores!
In eighth grade intervention we reviewed one step equations and began working with two step equations. I loved all the student participation, especially since it was the second math class of the day for those students. I know that is not much fun. I'll be getting my disclosure statements out for the eighth grade next week as soon as I solidify my grading plan. Thanks for your patience!
Thank you everyone for a great first week of school! I appreciate all the hard work you are doing!
